The film that motivated GA's campaign

We have received the message below from one of our supporters.

This film was one of the major motivations that led to the launch of Greyhound Action's campaign to
put an end to the greyhound racing industry.

Note the prophetic words, at the beginning, of greyhound vet Paddy Sweeney:-

"How many more thousands of greyhounds are going to be smashed up until the animal libbers get in on
this act? They'll start campaigning against it and greyhound racing could be banned".

Since the film was made, attendances at greyhound racing have plummeted and over 20 UK commercial
dog tracks have been forced to close.

Our campaign will continue until all of them are gone.

1993 On-The-Line: Cradle to Grave (BBC2)

Using undercover tactics, journalists investigate cruelty in greyhound racing in both the UK and
Ireland.

All essential aspects of the greyhound racing industry such as over breeding, training with live
bait, staggering injury figures, doping, vivisection and export to Spain are brilliantly portrayed
in this award winning documentary.

Seven people were convicted of animal cruelty as a result of the investigation.

Yet the most shocking feature of this daring film is that despite being made 15 years ago it remains
as relevant now as it has ever been before.
