Sighthound
Welfare Trust is an organisation dedicated to the welfare
of sighthounds, a group of breeds and types which include
greyhounds and lurchers. Although not directly involved
with the rescue and rehabilitation of dogs the organisation
does provide financial support through grants to welfare
groups that help sighthounds. The organisation also promotes
responsible ownership and raises awareness of a variety
of issues affecting the welfare of sighthounds as well as
promoting lost, found, stolen and homeless sighthounds and
much more besides. Sighthound Welfare Trust does not condone
greyhound racing or hunting. |

Sighthounds Online is a group of like minded people who
have, have had, love sighthounds or are involved with
sighthound rescue. We come together to discuss sighthounds
and assist rescues by having areas for homeless sighthounds
and we also carry out fundraising for rescues.
We
are wholly opposed to the abuse and mistreatment of sighthounds
and the use of sighthounds for hunting and racing.

1986 because of the founder members concern about the appalling
suffering of unwanted animals. The charity uses its funds
to help people on a low income (eg Income Support or Family
Credit) towards the cost of having their dogs and cats spayed
or neutered. PUP is run entirely by volunteers and receives
