Greyhound Action South
West London
A
branch of Greyhound Action has been running for over 18 months set up
to assist and encourage campaigns against the Wimbledon track and to help
educate the people of London about the slaughter and suffering caused
by the greyhound racing industry.

Weekly leafletting at Wimbledon track
Regular
leafletting of Wimbledon race-goers has been going on for the past 18
months and has been
highly successful in reducing attendances at greyhound racing there, resulting
in serious financial
problems for the track ... for more info, see our latest newsletter at
http://www.greyhoundaction.org.uk/pdf/RftL%20AugSept%202008.pdf
Leafletting
takes place outside the stadium almost every Saturday evening and sometimes
on Fridays
too. The leafletting sessions usually start at about 10.30pm, to catch
the punters on their way out,
in the hope that they'll read them when they get home and be persuaded
never to attend greyhound
racing again.
More
volunteers are needed in order to keep the leafletting going and to enable
it to be carried out
even more frequently. If you can help, even if only occasionally, please
call Simon on 07847 479961.
Directions/map
showing stadium location can be found at http://tinyurl.com/wimbledondirections
but
please call Simon first, as days and times of leafletting are sometimes
subject to change.
Volunteers
(especially those with transport) are also urgently needed to help with
Greyhound Action
info stalls in Merton and the surrounding boroughs, to educate local people
not to attend dog racing
at Wimbledon. If you can assist in this way, please contact Greyhound
Action South West London at
contact us for details ... swlga@yahoo.co.uk
or Simon on 07847 479961
Also, if you don't live anywhere
near Wimbledon, but would like to organise or take part in similar leafletting
sessions outside your local dog track, please contact Greyhound Action
at info@greyhoundaction.org.uk
or on 01562 700 043 for help and information.
